FanDuel NBA DFS, Lineup Pyramid, 2/6/2020

We have a 5 game slate on FanDuel NBA DFS tonight! With lock at 7:30 PM EST, here’s who I like to build our lineup pyramid today.

Our lineup pyramid is made up of 3 base players, 2 high-upside players, and the top overall scorer on the slate.

Remember, value is determined by reaching 5x the price for the player. Example: a price tag of $10,000 means the player needs to get 50.0 FPTS. Ideally, we want guys that smash that value for 7x-8x their worth.

Pyramid Base

Our pyramid base will consist of 3 players that I feel are safe plays today. These guys should reach value with ease and are a solid foundation for our FanDuel NBA DFS lineups.

  • P.J. Tucker, PF, Rockets
  • Nicolo Melli, PF, Pelicans
  • Nikola Vucevic, C, Magic

P.J. Tucker is priced at $4,900 and is averaging 22.28 FPTS per game. With the Rockets trading away Clint Capela, Tucker is going to be playing center for the Rockets. The added opportunity is going to a long ways for Tucker as he’ll be able to space the floor and attack opposing Centers. He should be a 30+ FPTS guy going forward as long as the Rockets play him at Center.

Nicolo Melli is priced at $3,600 and is averaging 12.02 FPTS per game. Melli is back in the good graces of the Pelicans coaching staff and has been seeing consistent minutes as a result. He’s been more of a miss than a hit this season but he has an excellent matchup ahead of him tonight against Chicago. A 20+ FPTS night is surely in the realm of possibilities tonight, unless Jaxson Hayes ($3,500) see’s extended run.

Nikola Vucevic is priced at $8,200 and is averaging 40.6 FPTS per game. With a price point right at his 5x value for his nightly average, Vucevic is a solid base option for Lineup Pyramid. He has a good matchup against the Knicks tonight and I suspect plenty of scoring from the Orlando big man. The foul-happy Knicks will send Vucevic to the line plenty tonight and a 30 PT-10 REB game is not out of the question.

Pyramid Middle

The middle of our lineup pyramid is reserved for high-upside guys, players that may be overlooked, or players that I project will obliterate their FanDuel NBA DFS value.

  • George Hill, PG, Bucks
  • Derrick Favors, PF, Pelicans

George Hill is priced at the minimum $3,500 and is averaging 19.35 FPTS per game. Finally returning to the lineup from a 3-game absence, Hill with step right back into the backup PG roll. Despite this being an extremely tough matchup, Hill and the Bucks will battle in a close game with the 76ers tonight. He’s almost a guaranteed “lock” to score 20+ FPTS and I feel he will be overlooked ownership wise.

Derrick Favors is priced at $5,000 and is averaging 27.76 FPTS per game. I like all of the Pelicans bigs tonight but Favors is the must-have in our Lineup Pyramid. The Bulls are abysmal against opponents post-men and Favors has 50+ FPTS upside. If the Bulls can somehow keep this game close, Favors will have to play 25+ minutes which is when he historically scores in the 40s FPTS wise.

Pyramid Top

The top of our lineup pyramid is for who I project will be the top overall FPTS scorer on the slate. This player will be the most beneficial to roster and should be a focal point of your FanDuel NBA DFS lineup.

  • Anthony Davis, PF, Lakers

Anthony Davis is priced at $9,800 and is averaging 51.49 FPTS per game. Davis has the best possible matchup against an incredibly undersized Rockets team tonight. There is no one on Houston that can realistically guard Davis in the paint as he has an insane advantage. He is going to be in every single persons lineups tonight as he is under-priced and the likely Pyramid Top.

Conclusion

Who do you think is the best play tonight on FanDuel? Should we lock in any 1 player and build around them? Let me know in the comments below! Also, check out the shop and other content by clicking here.
