FanDuel NBA DFS, Lineup Pyramid, 2/2/2020

We have a 6 game slate on FanDuel NBA DFS today! With lock at 12:30 PM EST, here’s who I like to build our lineup pyramid today.

Our lineup pyramid is made up of 3 base players, 2 high-upside players, and the top overall scorer on the slate.

Remember, value is determined by reaching 5x the price for the player. Example: a price tag of $10,000 means the player needs to get 50.0 FPTS. Ideally, we want guys that smash that value for 7x-8x their worth.

Pyramid Base

Our pyramid base will consist of 3 players that I feel are safe plays today. These guys should reach value with ease and are a solid foundation for our FanDuel NBA DFS lineups.

  • Ricky Rubio, PG, Suns (Questionable to play)
  • JJ Redick. SG, Pelicans
  • Kelly Oubre, SF, Suns

Ricky Rubio is priced at $5,500 and is averaging 33.6 FPTS per game. The Bucks are ranked 24th against opponents PG’s and Rubio has shown the ability to score north of 60 FPTS this season. This should be one of the highest, if not the highest, scoring game on the slate.

JJ Redick is priced at $4,200 and is averaging 21.99 FPTS per game. Redick has an excellent matchup against the Rockets today and could very easily score north of 30 FPTS. The Rockets rank 29th against opponents SG’s and Redick will be relied upon to launch 3’s in order to keep up with the Rockets scoring pace. This game and the MIL/PHX game will be the highest scoring games on the slate.

Kelly Oubre is priced at $6,800 and is averaging 33.61 FPTS per game. Despite the tough matchup, Oubre is in a great spot due to the high scoring nature expected in this game. The Bucks rank 6th against opponents SF’s and that is due to effectiveness of Giannis Antetokounmpo on the defensive end. Giannis is listed as questionable after leaving late in the Bucks last game with an injury which opens up the floor for Oubre. I see a lot of value in Suns players today.

Pyramid Middle

The middle of our lineup pyramid is reserved for high-upside guys, players that may be overlooked, or players that I project will obliterate their FanDuel NBA DFS value.

  • Deandre Ayton, C, Suns
  • Zion Williamson, PF, Pelicans

Deandre Ayton is priced at $8,200 and is averaging 39.44 FPTS per game. Facing the Bucks #1 ranked defense against opposing C’s will result in Ayton being overlooked on this slate. But, with all 3 rotational backup C’s on the Suns roster (Saric, Baynes, and Kaminsky) ruled out, Ayton will be required to play almost the entire game. In a game with a lot scoring going on, Ayton will be tasked with rebounding plenty of shots in this high-paced matchup.

Zion Williamson is priced at $6,500 and is averaging 30.86 FPTS per game. In the primetime game of today’s slate, Zion id going to have to put on a show in order to keep the Pelicans competitive against the Rockets. Even though it’s a tough matchup (the Rockets rank 6th against opposing PF’s), Zion has played incredibly efficiently and has yet to play 30 minutes in a game. I suspect that to change today as Zion and the Pelicans look to pull off the upset with increased Zion usage.

Pyramid Top

The top of our lineup pyramid is for who I project will be the top overall FPTS scorer on the slate. This player will be the most beneficial to roster and should be a focal point of your FanDuel NBA DFS lineup.

  • James Harden, SG, Rockets

James Harden is priced at $11,000 and is averaging 57.29 FPTS per game. Harden is capable of scoring north of 70 FPTS, in fact, he did so last time out! He has an excellent matchup with the Pelicans that rank 25th against opposing SG’s this season and will look to exploit that fact. The NBA’s leading scorer is the 3rd highest priced player on today’s slate and he looks to continue his resurgence from a few poor outings these past couple weeks.

Conclusion

Who do you think is the best play tonight on FanDuel? Should we lock in any 1 player and build around them? Let me know in the comments below! Also, check out the shop and other content by clicking here.
