The latter of 2 championship games this weekend is the NFC Championship. The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Green Bay Packers, the top 2 seeds will do battle to see who goes to the Super Bowl.

NFC Championship

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

Levi’s Stadium

Santa Clara, CA

The 49ers (-320) are -7.5 (-110) point favorites over the Packers. In their last meeting earlier this season, the 49ers absolutely destroyed the Packers. There are some differences between now and then, namely the health of the Packers O-line. But, I don’t think that is enough for the Packers to squeak out a victory. This game will certainly be closer than the last, and it’ll be because of the stalwart defenses. I like the UNDER on 46.5 (+100) and the Packers at +7.5 (-110).

It appears that the 49ers are entering the NFC Conference Championship at full health. With only Kwon Alexander remaining limited all week, he’s the only ‘Niner with a questionable tag heading onto the game.

As for the Packers, Danny Vitale is the only guy listed as questionable. Or so we thought!

The Packers may be able to survive without Vitale. Sure, the pass protection will take a hit, but it will be a manageable loss. But, if JK Scott misses, the team will have to count on kicker Mason Crosby for punts. The field position battle would swing drastically in the favor of the 49ers.

49ers Offense vs. Packers Defense

Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers utilize their run game perfectly. With Tevin Coleman regaining the primary job, Raheem Mostert is a big-play waiting to happen. Matt Breida has apparently fallen out of favor which means that this backfield is similar to the Packers. Jimmy G isn’t going to light things up, and he doesn’t need to in order for the 49ers to be successful. The Packers can rush the passer, which is their best defensive trait. However, the 49ers have the ultimate counter in the form of George Kittle. Kittle is the best TE in the NFL and will be the best player in this game. The Packers are going to need to double Kittle which leaves either Deebo Samuel or Emmanuel Sanders in 1-on-1 coverage. Whichever of those 2 doesn’t have Jaire Alexander on them is going to score.

Packers Offense vs. 49ers Defense

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers need to continue to ride the hot hand of Aaron Jones. Coming off of a 2 TD game, Jones is not getting the respect he deserves. The Packers will most likely revert to Rodgers trying to be the MVP again, which means plenty of work for Davante Adams. The other pass catchers for the Packers have been nonexistent as of late which bodes well for the 49ers. If Richard Sherman and company can contain Adams, the Packers won’t stand a chance. Let’s not forget that the 49ers pass rush is even more intimidating than Packers. Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead are going to be a nightmare for Rodgers in this game.

Packers: 17

49ers: 24

Guaranteed Touchdown Scorer: Aaron Jones

Dart Throw Touchdown Scorer: Deebo Samuel

Best Fantasy QB: Aaron Rodgers, the Packers will be playing from behind most likely which means more opportunities for Rodgers.

Better Fantasy RB: Aaron Jones, he’s the best RB in this game and I suspect the 49ers to split carries.

Better Fantasy WR: Deebo Samuel, he’s going to fly under the radar and end up in the endzone.

Best Fantasy TE: George Kittle, duh, don’t get cute.

Better Fantasy D/ST: 49ers, Rodgers is going to get sacked multiple times.
