Monday Night Football on ESPN will most likely determine who wins the NFC North! The Packers travel to Minnesota to battle the Vikings in a highly anticipated game.

*insert eyes emoji* Do we have an underdog victory in tow tonight?! The Packers (+180) are +5.5 (-115) underdogs on Monday Night Football! Call me a homer all you want but I’ve already locked in the underdog moneyline. Kirk Cousins doesn’t just lose on MNF, he plays unbelievably poorly too. When the lights shine the brightest, Cousins folds while Rodgers prospers. It helps our underdog cause more when we look at the major name missing action tonight for the Vikings.

The biggest name on the Vikings, Dalvin Cook, is OUT and will miss Monday Night Football. With Cook out, Alexander Mattison will have to step up- OH WAIT, he’s questionable to play too! The Vikings will likely depend on Mike Boone and his 32 career carries in this pivotal game.

With only 1 man on the injury report, Dean Lowry (Questionable), the Packers are in much better shape than the home team for Monday Night Football.

Vikings Offense vs. Packers Defense

With Boone running the ball, “hard as *bleep*” all the time, the Vikings may be able to fool the Packers into loading the box tonight. The Vikings will need a normal Sunday afternoon game from Kirk Cousins tonight, which means tons of work for Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. However, the Packers have the perfect antagonist for the Vikings pass game in CB Jaire Alexander. Often regarded as a Pro Bowl snub, Alexander has grown into a true shutdown corner in his 2nd season. He’ll be tasked with shutting down 1 of the 2 top tier WR’s for the Vikings or perhaps covering ½ the field ala “Revis Island” of years past. With Alexander on the backend, the Packers have been able to count on Kenny Clark, Preston Smith, and Za’Darius Smith to create pressure. Frankly, the weakness for this Packers defense is their run defense upfront. If Boone can attack the edge well enough to establish 50% of what Cook normally would, the Packers are in trouble.

Packers Offense vs. Vikings Defense

Aaron Jones is the real deal and the Packers need to feature him more often. Every time the Packers decide to give him the ball ~20 times a game, he balls out! But, the Packers then abandon the running game for multiple games in a row afterward. Obviously, you can’t go wrong with putting the ball in former MVP Aaron Rodgers hands. However, it’s like the Packers are scared of someone other than Rodgers being the reason for victory. He’s reestablished that outstanding chemistry with Pro Bowl WR Davante Adams since the latter returned from injury, but a new concern has arisen. Who is the #2 receiver? Both Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have fallen out of favor despite still playing a fair share of snaps. Allen Lazard appears to take a firm grasp of the #2 role, but he hasn’t seen more than 3 targets in a game in over a month. How does this affect the Vikings defense?

With Everson Griffin and Danielle Hunter attacking off of the edge, Rodgers will be forced to find openings on scramble drills. If he clearly doesn’t trust his young WR’s, Rodgers will eat more sacks or force the ball to Adams. Notorious for holding onto the ball too long, Rodgers is going to struggle to complete passes down the field tonight.

Packers: 24

Vikings: 21

Guaranteed Touchdown Scorer: Aaron Jones

Dart Throw Touchdown Scorer: Irv Smith Jr.

Best Fantasy QB: Aaron Rodgers, Cousins is trash on Monday Night Football.

Better Fantasy RB: Aaron Jones, the Vikings are hampered at the position and Jones is the most talented back on the field.

Better Fantasy WR: Davante Adams, he has a better matchup than Stefon Diggs / Adam Thielen + a better QB.

Best Fantasy TE: Kyle Rudolph, the big man is bound to get into the endzone tonight.

Better Fantasy D/ST: Packers, if this game were at any time other than Monday night we’d go with the Vikings.
