Monday Night Football for Week 8 is going to be something else, that’s for sure. Tonight, the Steelers will host the winless Dolphins in a game that will feature a bunch of guys that are trying to get traded to playoff contenders. Nonetheless, this article will cover everything you need to know about Monday Night Football for Week 8 of the NFL season.
Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers
If you’re crazy enough to bet on this game, I’d recommend the Dolphins covering the 14.0 spread (-115) and the total being UNDER 43.5 (-110). The Steelers as the moneyline favorite (-550) has no value to us to bet so it’s best to just sit this one out.
The Steelers enter tonight in pretty good shape in terms of health. The only questionable players are Jaylen Samuels, Mark Barron, and Ulysses Gilbert III. Meanwhile, Anthony Chickillo is ruled out for the home team.
The Miami Dolphins have traded starting running back Kenyon Drake away and Myles Gaskin is ruled out for their backfield. The only other offensive starter ruled out is the team’s center, Daniel Kilgore. On their defense, Avery Moss and Reshad Jones are ruled out which will free up the Steelers playmakers.
Steelers Offense vs. Dolphins Defense
These teams have some of the worst offenses in all of football but for tonight’s specific scenario, the Steelers should be able to run all over the horrendous Dolphins run defense. James Conner should be able to improve his poor yards per carry tonight and I believe he finds the endzone at least once. Also, with Reshad Jones out, JuJu Smith-Schuster might be able to catch a long-ball from Mason Rudolph.
Dolphins Offense vs. Steelers Defense
I fully expect Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen to split time as the QB tonight which means… the team will not develop any rhythm. Even though the Steelers defense is fairly bad, I think that TJ Watt and Devin Bush should be able to disrupt the game flow enough to keep the Dolphins in check. The Dolphins should have to throw a ton in this game so there’s a chance that either Preston Williams or DeVante Parker score a garbage-time touchdown.
