Thursday Night Football is here and can you believe that we are basically halfway through the NFL season? Where has the time gone? Nonetheless, I’ll be detailing the betting implications, injuries, matchup, and offer my own personal prediction for Thursday Night Football Week 8.
Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings
U.S. Bank Stadium
The spread for this game has moved all the way to -17.0 (-105) in favor of Minnesota. With a spread that wide, of course, the moneyline is all the way at -1400 for this Vikings squad tonight on Thursday Night Football. As for the total, -105 on UNDER 42.0 seems like the move on this game as we can expect Minnesota to just run the ball all game without any issues. Personally, I like the prop bet for Kirk Cousins OVER 246.5 passing yards (-125) as the Washington defense is one of the worst in the league. Also, if the full-game spread is too much for your liking, Minnesota -10.0 (-105) for the 1st half looks like a smart move. Lastly… Adrian Peterson revenge game anytime touchdown prop is at +350 soooooo…
The Vikings enter tonight’s game almost entirely healthy! The one glaring piece missing action tonight for TNF is Adam Theilen. Thankfully for Minnesota, they shouldn’t need their #1 receiver in this game as it should get out of hand rather quickly.
Washington isn’t as lucky on the injury side of things for Thursday Night Football. The guys already ruled out include: Chris Thompson, Vernon Davis, Wes Martin, Josh Harvey-Clemons, and Deshazor Everett. Those listed as questionable to play are Adrian Peterson, Josh Norman, Steven Sims Jr., and Montae Nicholson. Needless to say, this Washington squad might just want to escape in as close to one piece as possible.
Minnesota Offense vs. Washington Defense
Minnesota is finally hitting their stride and they run into one of the worst defenses in the entire NFL tonight. Washington is allowing over 130 rushing yards per game, which means Dalvin Cook will have a field day and Alexander Mattison has a solid chance of getting a touchdown too. Even without Thielen, this Vikings offense should have 0 issues moving the ball down the field. The best chance this Washington defense has is if Kirk Cousins reverts back into his early-season self tonight. Keep in mind, this is a revenge game for Cousins too. I like the chances that Stefon Diggs catches at least 1 TD pass from Cousins tonight.
Washington Offense vs. Minnesota Defense
Washington is just flat-out bad on offense. They barely get more than 200 passing yards a game and can’t even reach 85 rushing yards per game. Washington will have to pass a ton in this game so maybe we get a Terry McLaurin touchdown or even, dare I say, a Dwayne Haskins sighting. Then again, like I previously mentioned, this is a revenge game Peterson.
Guaranteed Touchdown Scorer: Dalvin Cook
