New York Giants at New England Patriots
As of writing, the Patriots are the heavy favorites to win (-1400) and are expected to win by the large margin of 17.5 points (-105). With a total set at 42.5 (-115 OVER), we can expect this game to be fairly one-sided. With all of the injuries on the Giants offense, I don’t hate the spread if you can find a book that offers it at 17 points instead of with the extra .5 points tacked on. Also, I’m taking a shot on Jonathan Hilliman scoring a touchdown at any time (+350) since he will get nearly all of the runningback work.
Both sides are hampered by injuries for tonight’s game. Starting with the Giants, nearly all of the skill position offensive players are hurt. The third 3rd string runningback is now the starter because Saquon Barkley and Wayne Gallman are both out. The number one receiver and tight end are both out as well as Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram will miss this game. Thankfully, they only have Lorenzo Carter listed as questionable on the defensive side of the ball.
For the Patriots, Rex Burkhead is expected to miss tonight’s game alongside the already ruled out Phillip Dorsett. Other than that, Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman are both questionable but are expected to play. On defense, Pat Chung is listed as questionable alongside a couple of backups in Shilique Calhoun and Nate Ebner.
Patriots Offense vs. Giants Defense
I’ll make this brief, the Patriots are averaging 31 points a game and will have most of their weapons unless Gordon and Edelman surprisingly sit this game out. The Giants are allowing over 130 yards rushing a game and tonight they expect to be trailing from the get-go. So, Sony Michel should be able to run all over this poor Giants defense and I expect that he will find paydirt at least once tonight. Don’t be surprised if we get a Jarrett Stidham / Cody Kessler sighting in the 4th quarter.
Giants Offense vs. Patriots Defense
With nearly all of their skill position players ruled out, Daniel Jones will be struggling to move the ball down the field all game tonight. The 3rd string runningback, Jonathan Hilliman, will get nearly all the snaps in the backfield as the only other runningback is Austin Walter… a practice squad player that has yet to play an NFL snap and was only signed at about… noon today. Good luck, Mr. Walter. To add insult to injury, nearly literally, the Patriots have the #1 defense in the NFL as they allow less than 7 points a game.
Guaranteed Touchdown Scorer: Sony Michel
Dart Throw Touchdown Scorer: Jonathan Hilliman
Well, I’ll be frank with all of you, I’m going to be watching the WNBA Finals tonight instead of this game. Typical TNF game that will not be interesting unless you’re a bettor that has a lot riding on Daniel Jones UNDER 220.5 passing yards or something. Hopefully, I’m wrong about this game and the Giants put up a fight… I just don’t see it happening.
