Countdown to NBA 2019: Most Valuable Player Candidates, #19

Okay here it is, he’s #19 on the list of potential MVPs for the upcoming season. We have yet to see him play against NBA competition so there is no telling how good he truly is as a basketball player. Sure, he was a beast at Duke last year and is the most highly touted player entering the league since LeBron James back in 2003… but he is still a rookie.

#19 Zion Williamson

Forward, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson took the world by storm back when he was in high school. Video clips of him dunking went viral on social media and the rest is history. Zion is already referred to on a one-name basis like LeBron, Kobe, Harden, Kyrie, Steph, and Giannis… that’s very good company to be with before he even steps foot on to an NBA court. For a man of his size, listed at 285lbs and 6’7, he should not be able to move and jump as he does on the court. Zion is a freak athlete that just so happens to play basketball. He averaged over 22 points and 8 rebounds a game as a true freshman at Duke last season and looks to take his talents to the NBA this year. If you haven’t seen highlight clips of Zion, have you been living under a rock?

Zion is currently at +10000 (Bovada) to win the NBA MVP award. Do you think Zion will win the MVP? Let me know in the comments below!
